A company on the move

The German staffing market is under pressure. Recession, budget cuts, and cautious clients make for a tough environment. Yet YER Germany is growing massively. In 18 months, its workforce grew from roughly 190 to just under 350. Revenue grew by over 30 percent in the first year. And in the last 12 months, the company won 50 percent new customers, including large mid-sized and corporate accounts that were previously out of reach.

The turning point arrived in 2024 when YER Germany (then Avantgarde Experts) joined the Dutch market leader, YER. This move made it part of a European growth story, but it also demanded a complete rethink of its processes, data, and technology.

“We didn’t need a quick fix,” says Philipp, CEO of YER Germany. “We needed a foundation for the next ten years. A system that can handle our growth without breaking.”

The reality: a business model in transformation

For a long time, YER Germany was known for academic staffing — placing IT and engineering specialists in long-term projects. The model worked, and clients were loyal. But today’s market demands flexibility and specialization. Clients now look for six-to-nine-month projects rather than two-year engagements. They need specialized know-how, fast.

This means the business model must adapt: more project business, more freelancer placement, and deeper advisory services. Philipp notes: “We act as consultants now. Our first job is to help the client figure out: Who do you actually need?”

The challenge: two systems, one bottleneck

In the past, YER Germany operated with two separate CRM systems. Teams in different cities often targeted the same clients without a shared database. Sales colleagues would call a client, unaware that a teammate had been there the day before. This created unnecessary friction and wasted time.

Data maintenance was a chore, and transparency was lacking. With 350 employees and a new strategy, the old technology just couldn’t keep up. The team knew it was time for a change.

Why Byner

When choosing a system, one thing was non-negotiable: YER Germany didn’t want to be just another number. It needed a partner who lives and breathes the staffing business. Someone who doesn’t just deliver a platform but thinks along with the team.

The company chose Byner, built on Salesforce. While it usually operates in the Microsoft ecosystem, Byner offered the superior solution for candidate and client management. Salesforce provides the stable, flexible foundation needed for the next decade, while Byner provides the industry expertise. “Salesforce is the tech,” says Daniel. “But with Byner, we have a partner who knows our world.”

"We wanted someone capable of adapting to our business — and who actually listens to us."

Preparation: requirements with substance

Before the project kicked off, YER Germany did something critical: it asked its own people. Daniel, Data & Transformation Manager, talked to sales, recruiters, and the back office. The goal wasn’t to check boxes, but to understand the daily reality. Where is the friction? Where is time being lost?

The feedback was honest. The team started with 300 requirements, but after prioritizing, only 20 to 25 turned out to be truly essential. This discipline was key. By staying close to the standard and focusing on what truly differentiates the business, YER Germany avoided getting lost in endless customizations. It also learned from YER Netherlands, which had already implemented similar processes, helping to avoid pitfalls before they appeared.

The rollout: March 2026

In March 2026, YER Germany went live. It made a conscious choice to stick to the standard to ensure easy future updates. The goal: map processes cleanly, achieve stability, and then integrate new tools step by step.

Internal communication was just as vital. The focus was on taking people along on the journey. Not every detail was communicated, but the changes that mattered were handled transparently. “The most important thing is engaging the people who use the system every day,” says Philipp. “Without them, even the best system is worthless.”

"No matter when I needed something, someone was always there. Responsive, fast, competent. That's what made this project possible."
Daniel Frauenrath - Data & Transformation Manager

The success factor: partnership, not vendor

Just as important as the internal collaboration was the partnership on the vendor side, because technology alone doesn’t win implementations. YER could have bought any platform. Choosing Byner wasn’t a vendor decision. It was a partnership decision.

Daniel sums it up: “Salesforce is a technology topic. I look at whether the platform is scalable and flexible. But an implementation takes more than technology. You need contacts who are available. You need commitment from the other side. You need real understanding. Those are the values that matter for a successful rollout. Top technology without someone who answers when you have a problem — you can’t implement anything with that.”

That was Byner’s promise, and it was kept. Daniel reports: “No matter when I needed something, someone was always there. Responsive, fast, productive, competent. Not: submit a ticket, hear back eight weeks later. Instead: I write an email, and I get an answer. Feeling that the other side treats the topic like their own — that’s decisive in an implementation. And I felt that the whole time.”

The impact

Three months post-launch, adoption is high. The team has moved past troubleshooting and is now actively improving the system. The changes are concrete:

  • One CRM, not two. All activities in one place with full transparency across teams.
  • Faster collaboration between Sales and Recruiting. No more missing info.
  • A scalable foundation ready to connect with external partners and platforms.
  • High user engagement as the company continues to grow.
  • Clear data insights that serve as the bedrock for the future.

“In a year, we’ll see the full picture,” says Philipp. “The numbers will speak for themselves.”

The vision: freeing people for the human touch

Next, YER Germany is tackling back-office processes like contract management and billing. The goal is clear: give recruiters and sales the time to do what only humans can — build connections and trust. The system should handle documentation and data in the background.

Daniel puts it simply: “I want a system so elegant that people hardly notice it’s there. Like Apple: just a few settings, and everything works.”

Why this works

YER Germany needed more than a CRM; it needed a partner who understands freelancer management, project business, and advisory services. Byner delivered. But success came from a commitment to change management:

  • Focusing on the 20 requirements that actually matter.
  • Transparent communication with no black holes. Real people listening and responding.
  • Bridging business and tech with dedicated leadership.
  • The discipline to stay with the standard to ensure scalability.
  • The courage to learn — from YER Netherlands, from Byner, and from itself.

YER Germany is outperforming the market. Now it has the platform to match its ambition.
